The film follows 14-year-old Elijah Stevens who seems to have the perfect life. He’s always spending time with his core groups of friends: Jake, Antonio, Skylar, and Mateo. And he even snagged the girl of his dreams, Ashley. The problem? Elijah’s BFF Jake is Ashley’s step-brother! But their bantering is nothing Elijah can’t handle, and their unique relationship supplies plenty of entertaining moments.

Soon, Elijah starts dealing with the typical high school obstacles, including a gang of bullies who just can’t learn to walk away, and fast-spreading gossip that just might ruin his relationship with Ashley.

As if that weren’t enough, he struggles with the heart-breaking info that his parents are getting a divorce. Being the family-oriented son he is, he takes the news hard and starts reflecting back to the beloved summers he and his fam spent in Hawaii.

But Elijah’s not the only one whose “perfect” life seems to be quickly falling apart. Jake is concerned with his dog’s health, Skylar’s mom is suffering from cancer, Antonio’s family is moving soon, and Mateo’s divorced mom is remarrying. With all of these changes going on, the boys are thrown into lives of overwhelming uncertainty.

Tackling the difficulties of growing up and dealing with whatever life throws your way, too perfect expresses the true power that lies within friendships, proving that, with a friend by your side, there is nothing you can’t get through!
