Meet Arisa Trew, the teen skater who just scored an Olympic gold medal
We're not the first to say it (and we're pretty sure we won't be the last): There's basically no one cooler than Arisa Trew.
The 14-year-old Aussie skateboarder just clinched an Olympic gold medal this week in the women's park skateboarding final, making her the youngest medalist at the Paris games. She wasn't the only teen girl competing either—Cocona Hiraki (15) from Japan earned silver and Sky Brown (16) from Great Britian took home bronze.
Besides headlining our Girls' Life 30 Under 30 lineup (check out our full list of honorees here!), Arisa's been in the public eye slaying skate competitions—and even earning praise from pros like Tony Hawk. Last year, she became the first female skateboarder ever to land a 720: a trick that includes nailing two full mid-air rotations.
Needless to say, it was no surprise to see Arisa's trademark hot pink helmet coasting across that Olympic bowl—and no surprise to see her smiling out at fans from the top of the podium.
