"I planned it out because she's one of the best people I've known," Curtis sweetly confessed about the surprise.
"When we told him that she wasn't getting a prom, he was like, 'Well, we could do a mini prom!'" Curtis' mom, Elissa, recalled. "He was very excited for making sure everything was just right. He got his suit on and picked out his bowtie that matched her dress. It was pretty cute." In a true sign of the times, Curtis even brought a 6-foot-long pool noodle to make sure to maintain social-distancing at the prom.
"He had all my favorite foods and everything — I could tell he put a lot of thought into it," Rachel added.
