Taylor Swift is releasing a new album and we're freaking out

We're happy, free, confused and lonely...and screaming, crying and throwing up. We met our fave popstar at midnight last night—and now we're here to give you *all* the tea on Taylor Swift and her upcoming album, Midnights.

Here's what we know:

1. Taylor slayed the VMAs.

@mtv ALL TOO WELL HIVE RISE and bow down to our THREE TIME Video of the Year winner #TaylorSwift!!!! #VMAs ♬ original sound - MTV

The 2022 VMAs were a Swiftie's daydream. All Too Well: The Short Film won best long-form music video (with crush-worthy Dylan O'Brien taking the stage alongside Tay) *and* blondie announced a brand new album!

2. The album is called Midnights.

The cover art is *everything.* For longtime Swifties who have been mourning Bleachella since 2016, Midnights is giving all the grungy energy we want in our lives. T Swift is rocking a sparkly blue eyeshadow look we didn't know we needed. (Are we on our way to Sephora to buy some rn? Maybe...)

3. It comes out Oct. 21.

At midnight, ofc. If you need us next month, we'll be planning our snack-filled, tissues-on-hand listening party.

4. The inspo? 13 sleepless nights.

From lines like "3 a.m. and I'm still awake," "It's 2 a.m. and I'm cursing your name" and "'Cause there we are again in the middle of the night," it's no secret that Miss Swift doesn't always get the full nine hours. Can you blame her? She's a busy gal. Midnights is all about these sleepless nights (13 of them, to be exact) throughout different phases of Taylor's life.

So mark your calendars for Oct. 21 and make sure to buy some waterproof mascara (there will be tears). TS 10 is about to have us feeling like a girl in a brand new dress, like we're made of starlights and so Gatsby for this whole year. Meet us behind the mall on Oct. 21, because we will be streaming Midnights.
