Put Miya Cech in charge of everything? Yes, plz. The 13-year-old actress stars in Nickelodeon's newest series, The Astronauts, about a group of kids who end up accidentally launched into space—without any adults. Back here on Earth, though, Miya already is leveling up in her own life...and we're taking notes. 

Miya's Mantra #1: Step up without apology.

"My character, Samy, can be kind of bossy at times—but I don't think bossy should be a negative term. Girls should be able to take the lead and not feel bad for doing it."

Miya's Mantra #2: Speak your truth.

"I had a role recently where they wanted me to smoke a cigarette. They were like, 'Oh, it's an herbal cigarette, it's fine. You're not going to be doing anything to your body.' But I said no because I still didn't feel comfortable."

Miya's Mantra #3: Seek out other strong women.

"My friend Amandla Stenberg taught me about feminism, representation, activism, being a role model and standing up for what I believe in. I'm so grateful."
