Yara Shahidi just launched her own production company

Grown-ish actress and overall boss babe Yara Shadidi just signed a deal with ABC Studios to form her own production company with the help of her mother, Keri. The 20-year-old will be working through her company, 7th Sun Productions, to produce cable TV projects, along with ABC.

“I’m thrilled to be partnering with my home family, ABC Studios, in this exciting next chapter, alongside my family,” Yara said in a statement on July 20. “It’s exciting to add our production company to the roster of my peers and mentors who are also actively committed to sharing meaningful stories.”

We've seen Yara everywhere lately from her role as Zoey Johnson in Black-ish and later Grown-ish, to her starring role as Natasha in The Sun is Also a Star.

“We can’t wait to extend and expand our relationship with the incredibly talented Yara Shahidi, who has been a member of the family since Black-ish," said ABC Studios president Jonnie Davis in a statement. "When she’s not studying at Harvard and starring in our series Grown-ish, she’s mentoring and inspiring other young people, which makes us all feel like underachievers but also very proud that she’s part of our studio."

We can't wait to see what Yara does next.
