Here's why BTS' Black Lives Matter donation was so crucial
Throughout pop culture history, teen fans have often been written off as fickle listeners who rally behind the flavor of the week and then forget them...but that's obviously not the case. Now more than ever, teen fans are passionate, they're opinionated and they're screaming for change. Case in point: On Thursday, BTS tweeted its support for the Black Lives Matter movement by saying, “We Stand against racial discrimination. We Condemn violence, You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together. #BlackLivesMatter.”

우리는 폭력에 반대합니다.
나, 당신, 우리 모두는 존중받을 권리가 있습니다. 함께 하겠습니다.
We stand against racial discrimination.
We condemn violence.
You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together.#BlackLivesMatter
Then, on Saturday, Variety reported that BTS and their record label, Big Hit Entertainment, had quietly donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter. The gesture alone would have been a thoughtful way for BTS to show their support...but the story doesn't end there.
The BTS Army has not only matched the group's donation...they're exceeding it. You see, a fund, which was actually set up before BTS' donation became public and benefits a list of anti-racism organizations, is nearing $1.3 million, showing the world that young people can and most definitely *will* change the world. Fans circulated the idea worldwide by using #MatchAMillion, and the hashtag has quickly spread all over the globe.
We bet BTS has never been so proud of their #Army!
