Meg DeAngelis Trolls us on her new movie and charity venture

Attention all music lovers, Dreamworks fans and YouTube fanatics! If you hit the theater to see Trolls this past weekend—which you most likely did because the movie, released Friday, took second place in the box office!—we're guessing it's because of the rockstar cast: Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Gwen Stefani and—along for the ride—YouTuber Megan DeAngelis.

Meg, who plays troll Moxie in the movie, says the whole experience was amazing even though she only has one line. "It really was just like a, 'Hey, I’m here!' type thing but still very, very cool," Meg gushed. "It was amazing to be part of something like that." She says she was able to learn a little bit about animation while she was in the studio and playing the role made her want to learn more about voice acting, too. Another perk? Wearing sweats and a messy bun to work. No cameras = no long hours in the hair and makeup chair.

The best part about the flick isn't being able to rock sweats, though. It's got a great message, too. “When things get rough, you should try to be in a good mood and carry on because that’s when you’re going to need that good mood mode,” she told us. “It’s easy to be in a good mood when things are going well, but if you can do it when everything is going crazy then that’s what matters.”

Besides being mega talented, Meg is also pretty generous, too! Through the holidays, 25 percent of the proceeds for the Maybaby Hashtag Shelf and the Maybaby "Quote Me" Beauty Storage from her PB Teen collection will be going to Teen Cancer America. (Pssst! These make great prezzies for your pals.)

Why TCA? Meg, who thinks it's super important for YouTubers to get involved with charity work, already has a connection to the org: Her grandmother.

“My grandma actually used to work with them a lot,” Meg explained. “Any kid with cancer’s been a really big priority for me, and I went to visit them about a year ago in LA so I’m just trying to keep up what my grandma was doing.”

Are you going to see Trolls? What about picking up pieces from her PBTeen line? Sound off in the comments!
