How to get involved this election even if you can't vote
Politics affect everyone, especially during election years. All you hear about on the news is the election—it feels like it's never going to end! Even if you're under the age of 18 and can't vote, there are still many ways to get involved in politics and make a difference. Here are five ways to be active when you're too young to vote:
Volunteer for a campaign
Is there a certain candidate you feel strongly towards? Sign up to volunteer for their campaign! You might not be old enough to work the polls, but there's usually no age limit on phone banking or other forms of spreading the word. Look on the website of the candidate you like and see how to start volunteering.
Attend rallies
Gather up some friends with similar views and go to a rally for your fave candidate. It's a great way to show support and be surrounded by people who share the same beliefs as you. Plus, you can get some awesome Snapchats of the event.
Buy and wear merchandise
Want a way to let people know your political beliefs? Rock a cute branded tee and let your shirt do the talking.
Spread awareness on social media
An easy way to support your candidate is through social media. All of the major candidates have Twitter accounts so follow them and retweet their tweets. You never know who you could influence in your network.
Talk to the people who can vote
Talk to your parents, grandparents, older sister, etc. Ask them who they're planning to vote for and discuss the hot topic issues. They'll be impressed by how passionate you are about politics.
