I have glasses that I have to wear all the time. Recently I found out I’m getting braces. I’m scared of how I’ll look and how people will think of me. I told my friends this and one said, “I’m sorry to say this but you’re going to be a total nerd!”

Glasses and braces? Welcome to the club—ao many girls have glasses and braces! Guys, too. It’s practically the norm. Your friend was lame to make you feel self-conscious. If she had shared such worries with you, I hope you would have said, “Oh, you always look great!” And by the way, in no time, you won’t have braces, you’ll have beautiful, straight teeth. So keep smiling, OK?
