LIFE
Dear Carol
"Dear Carol, how do I talk to my mom about sex?"
Dear Carol,
All the info I get about sex is from my friends. I am scared to ask my mom about all this.
–Nervous
Dear Nervous,
Some moms welcome the opportunity to talk to their daughters but feel nervous about initiating the conversation. It might help to wait until the two of you are alone washing dishes or in the car, and then say, “Mom, this is a little embarrassing for me, but I have some questions.”
You may also be able to talk to your dad, Godmother, relative, friend’s mom or school nurse. And there are plenty of books that address issues about your changing body and sex. Why not browse around a bookstore or head to your local library?
