Why you *really* shouldn’t skip breakfast
You know that thing your parent always told you about “breakfast being the most important meal of the day?” Well they weren’t kidding.
It may seem like a hassle to try and find something to eat every morning, especially when you think you’re going to be late, but trust us when we say you need it. It’s so important to make sure you always eat something for breakfast before you leave for school in the morning. Read on to find out the top 3 reasons why.
It’ll help you do better in school.
You read that right. A simple granola bar or breakfast wrap in the morning can help you do better in school. This is because you’ll be able to focus better when you’re not running on an empty stomach. Also, according to several studies, your brain needs glucose (no, not just sugar!) to function and where do you get glucose? From food in your breakfast!
Skipping can lead to weight gain.
Skipping breakfast in the morning leads to unhealthy food choices later in the day as you wait for lunch and dinner or even overeating. When you continue to do this, it’ll lead to you gaining weight. Having an a.m. meal also gets your metabolism going for the day.
No breakfast can affect your growth.
Think about it: We need food in order to make fuel for the rest of our body. Not only does it keep us running, but it helps to build healthy, functioning bodies as well. When you’re not giving your body the nutrients that it needs, you won’t be able to properly grow.
