Want to Look and Feel Your Best? Get Milk!

Beauty doesn’t always come from the cosmetics aisle or fashion racks. Whether it’s getting ready to look your best for a big event or a regular day at school, making the right choices, like eating nutritious foods and drinking lowfat or fat free milk, can help you look lean and strong on the outside…and feel confident and strong on the inside. Here’s how to get more moo in your daily diet.

Here’s how to get more moo in your daily diet.
Breakfast on the go. Instead of grabbing a doughnut or muffin, snag a baggie of whole grain cereal and a carton of fat free or low-fat milk. Just pop a handful and chase with a swig of milk. No bowl or spoon required!
Lunch date.  Grab low-fat milk to go with your cafeteria grub. Want more variety? Opt for flavored milk, like strawberry or chocolate, which still has all the nutrient rewards of the regular stuff. 

Midday pick-me-up.  By 2 p.m., you’re yawning, wishing there was still such a thing as naptime. Instead of drinking soda or another caffeinated beverage, drink milk. Why? Milk’s three B vitamins—riboflavin, niacin and B12—convert food to energy to help get you going.

Cool creations. Summer heat has you beat? Whip up a delicious smoothie. In a blender, combine ½ cup of lowfat milk, one 6 oz. container of light vanilla yogurt and a cup of your favorite frozen fruit. Blend together and chill out!

Snack time.  It’s 3 p.m., you’re trying to cram for your math final but all you hear is the grumbling in your stomach? Add low-fat milk to your snack time. Each 8 ounce glass of milk has 8 grams of high-quality protein to help keep you full and prevent the urge to stuff your face. 

One sporty slurp.  Soccer practice has you all worn out? Instead of downing a sport drink, chug some low-fat chocolate milk. It’s nature’s recovery drink when you need to rehydrate, replenish and rebuild your body. 

Sleeping beauty. At night, a warm glass of low-fat or fat free milk can help you relax and fall to sleep. Waking up fresh will give you renewed energy to achieve your dreams.
