MAKE IT CUTE

DIYs

Brilliant button corsage

Ornate t-shirts are all the rage, but sometimes the price tags make us tremble. That’s why we totally dig this DIY project that’ll make your tops unique without breakin’ the bank.

What you’ll need:

Sewing needle

Thread

Scissors

Assorted buttons

Shirt (A scoop neck or V-neck works nicely. Also try sewing the corsage on the collar of a button-down shirt.)

What you’ll do:

1. Lay out your shirt on a flat surface. Choose a few buttons from your stash and place them on your shirt in the layout you prefer. Play with the number, size, color and arrangement of the buttons until you find a combo you adore.

2. Choose your starting point and sew the buttons on the shirt in a sequential order. As you travel between buttons, use a tiny stitch here or there so that you don’t have big stitches on the other side of the shirt. Also be careful not to pull your thread too tight to avoid puckering the fabric…and don’t sew the back and the front of your tee together!

3. When you have reached the last button, make a button and cut your thread. Gorgeous!
Gift it! Wanna make this into a prezzie for your favorite girl? Easy. Grab an inexpensive cotton t-shirt at a store--Forever 21 has an awesome selection with lots of choices on the cheap--and get busy.
