Dating has changed a *lot* over the years.  People aren't asking each other out in person much anymore like the used to—instead, they're using dating apps and social media. While there were some questionable trends in fashion and beauty in the late '90s and early 2000s it did have some of the best rom-coms ever and solidified some super cute dating trends that we think need to make a comeback. Check out the trends below—and even try out some on your crush!

Calling them on the phone

It's much more personal than texting or using social media, and who doesn't want to spend hours on the phone together until you fall asleep?

Making them a mix

Tapes may not be around anymore, but that doesn't mean you can't burn your crush a CD with songs that remind you of them, or even make them a Spotify playlist.

Telling them how you feel

Don't send it over text! Instead, hang out with them and tell them your feelings in person.   

Introducing them to your parents 

Go old school and let your parents meet them so that they can see who you're spending time with.  

Writing letters to each other

 Getting a hand written note is one of the best feelings ever, so why not do it for your crush?

Asking them on a date

Don't just make casual plans to go out for food. *Actually* ask them if they want to go on a date with you!
