The shy girl's guide to crushes: asking out your crush
Last week, we filled you in on our fave ways to flirt in our first installment of "The shy girl's guide" series. But learning how to overcome your awkwardness or shyness when it comes to dating takes time, and there's more than just flirting to chat about. So this week, we're guiding you through the unthinkable: asking out your crush. It's the definition of "easier said than done," but these tips will kick your confidence into high gear.
Look your best: Pick out a nice but not over-the-top outfit the night before, apply a little bit of makeup if that's your thing and try something new with your hair. This preparation will not only help you in looking your best but also *feeling* it.
Practice: Preparing in the mirror or with a friend is a great way to shake out some nerves and solidify how you're going to say it. You'll want to practice until it comes out natural.
Be flirty: Since you've probably already established a relationship with the person you're intending to ask, you don't have to go overboard with this one. Simply adding in a flick of the hair or touching their arm beforehand will attract his/her attention.
Keep it calm and confident: Acting erratic and obviously nervous will make things all the more difficult. Remaining cool and collected while posing the question is a must, since it will make both of you more comfortable. Remember, it's not the end of the world if it’s a rejection! There's plenty of other fish in the sea, as they say.
