Going to the movies with your boo is great and all, but after the fifth flick weekend in a row it can get pretty boring. I mean, you can only watch so many rom-coms before you're totally over movie theater popcorn and candy. With autumn approaching, there's no better way to get out and enjoy the fall weather than with one of these tried, true and festive date ideas. So ditch the movies and go take on the season with your sweetie.

1. Pick your pumpkins

Hit up a patch and enjoy the sunshine with this classic autumn activity. Don't just pick 'em, though. Take it one step further by carving the pumpkins with your beau, too. But ditch the usual smiley faces and ghosts—put a twist on the norm by carving out each other’s faces on your pumpkins. It’s OK if your creations turn out more Frankenstein than #flawless—that's the fun part!

2. Hit up a hay ride

Chilly, crisp air + sweet scenes + your cutie = an idyllic autumn afternoon. Snag a piping hot spiced cider to share as you cuddle up for amongst the hay. If you're feeling a tad spooky, take your hay ride to the next level with a haunted rendition. 

3. Harvest festival

State fairs and carnivals are aplenty right now, so this is a date to make ASAP. Ride the ferris wheel and let your bae win you one of those oversized stuffed animals—or, win one for them! Enjoy a day or night full of cotton candy, candy apples and lots of hand holding opps.

4. Fall apple haul

Stroll through the endless lines of shady trees and snag the sweetest apples you can find with the apple of your eye right by your side. Grab enough apples for some pie, a crisp and to cover in caramel.

5. Get into character

What cuter way is there to spend a day than by trying on Halloween costumes with one another. Even if you don't end up buying matching costumes, a pic of you two dressed as Jasmine and Aladdin or Woody and Jessie will make for the sweetest snaps. Can you say #couplegoals?
