How to make an awkward situation better
I told a guy in my class that I like his friend. He
screamed it across the cafeteria, and a lot of kids heard. I want to teach that
loud boy a lesson because he really hurt my feelings. What should I do?
Dear Really Embarrassed,
Believe it or not, usually the best thing to do after you’ve been humiliated is…nothing. It’s the only way to make an awkward situation smaller instead of bigger. Ignore him and move on. And from now on, take your time before going public with private feelings.
