CRUSHES
Advice
3 guys to date (and 3 to avoid) in the New Year
Dateable Dudes
1. The Geeky Cutie
He might not be the coolest guy, but he’s probably one of the nicest. He doesn’t feel the need to be as rude or immature as most of the other guys who are constantly trying to one up each other. He’s intelligent, so convos with him should flow easily and be engaging. Plus, dating a smarty like you keeps both of you focused on grades.
2. The Perfect Gentleman
He’s strong, a little rugged and oh-so cute! He’ll carry your bags, hold doors open for you, and generally be pretty courteous. He’ll defend you in any situation, which will make you feel even more loved and protected. With him, you’re bound to have some adventures, as he’ll want to be doing fun, crazy things.
3. The Nice Guy
He’ll show up with flowers, send you adorable good morning texts and make you feel like a princess. He won’t make you worry by playing the hard to get game or ever intentionally do something to hurt you. While bad boys can be fun and adventurous, they are notorious for also breaking hearts. Being with a nice guy is the best way to ensure a healthy, happy relationship.
Ditch-worthy Duds
1. The Flake
He always makes plans with you and gets you pumped up for cute dates. But, it seems like even when things have been set in stone for weeks, he still finds a way to bail last minute. He’ll constantly leave you feeling let down and lonely, so get a guy who won’t waste your time.
2. The Player
While he’s smooth talking and always seems to know just the right things to say to you—he’s probably telling them to a handful of other girls too. His wandering eye won’t stay put, and as much as you’ll want to change him into boyfriend material, let’s face it—it’s not gonna happen. Players run too high of a risk of cheating and hurt feelings, so leave them off your list this New Year.
3. The Bro
This boy is always rolling with unsavory guy friends. Good luck convincing him to try anything that’s not oozing with testosterone (i.e. cute dates)—that just gives his crew ammo against him. Sure, he should still have guy time. But if his friends are egging him on to act like an inconsiderate jerk to you (or girls in general), find a guy who keeps better company.
