How to deal with a bad kisser

We’ve all been faced with this problem. There’s a guy you really like, but when it comes to the kissing department, he could improve, a lot. Should you ditch him? No way! Here’s how you deal.

Step One: Identify the problem. Know what it is specifically that you don’t like. Is it bad breath? Too sloppy, too aggressive, too much tongue? Because simply saying, “You’re a bad kisser,” isn’t really fair—or helpful. You should be able to tell him what in particular he’s doing that you aren’t really digging.

Step Two: Take control. Start by showing—not telling—him how you want him to kiss you. This can be tricky, but don’t worry. If he’s not picking up on it, move on to Step Three.

Step Three: Verbalize your concerns. Tell him this is a nice way: “I love when you do ________,” but, “when you do ________, it doesn’t really work.” Also add, “I’d love it if you did ________ more!” Follow this pattern, and he’s sure to hear you without getting his feelings hurt.

Step Four: Practice makes perfect! Guys with less experience aren’t going to be great kissers right away, so they will appreciate your help, as long as you’re nice about it.
