GL's ultimate 2012 soundtrack
Make sure to grab your friends, ‘cause this soundtrack will have ya reminiscing about the year together…and up on your feet, dancin’ to the beat!
“Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen
This song is totes our anthem. It’s perfect for singing along in the car and choreographing dances.
“Ho Hey” by The Lumineers
This song made the list because we can never seem to get the quirky beat out of our head.
“Boyfriend” by Justin Bieber
No dance playlist would be complete without a song by the Biebs. We chose his biggest hit from the year, natch.
“Some Nights” by fun.
Talk about a jam! This tune is absolutely irresistible when you need something to sing along to.
“I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz
While this song is a bit slower, we love the build-up of the chorus. Anything by Jason Mraz is beautiful, including this tune.
“Domino” by Jessie J
This girl-power anthem is perf for hangin’ with your buds, or while doing homework, or…any time, really!
“Starships” by Nicki Minaj
Her singin’ style is totally wacky but we’ll admit, we can’t get enough of it—especially in this big 2012 song.
“What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction
Um, hello, how could we ever leave out our lovely British heartthrobs? Sigh, this tune makes us think of summer.
“Somebody That I Used To Know” by Gotye
Totally weird, but also totally catchy. We were a little unsure of this song when we first heard it, but it soon skyrocketed in the charts and we fell in love.
“Lights” by Ellie Goulding
This one is also a bit quirky, but we adore Ellie’s voice and the chorus is an all-out dance party.
“Where Have You Been” by Rihanna
Rihanna’s songs always have us up on our feet, and “Where Have You Been” is no different. We love the mysterious vibe it’s got, too.
“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” by Taylor Swift
Every good playlist needs an awesome breakup song. And what’s better for 2012 than this Tay Swift hit?
“Gangnam Style” by Psy
The Korean tune that swept the nation through the Internet, Psy’s “Gangnam Style” was a no-brainer for the perfect 2012 playlist.
“Give Your Heart a Break” by Demi Lovato
Just as ya need a breakup song, you’ve gotta include something for when you’re in a relationship. Enter Demi Lovato, with her heartwarming 2012 tune.
“Glad You Came” by The Wanted
Our other fave British boy band, The Wanted’s “Glad You Came” gets stuck in our head in a second and has us singin’ all day long.
