The 2014 Winter Olympics are in full force. Which members of Team USA are you cheering on? While we’re currently parked in front of the TV, rooting for our fave teen athletes like Gracie Gold (figure skating) and Tucker West (luge), we can’t help but get caught up in the commercial action that comes in between those coverage breaks. Seriously, we’re suckers for those P&G Thank You, Mom ads.
Sure, the new crop of commercials are amazing, but it’s hard to forget those oldies—yet goodies—from years past that feature some top Olympic legends. Take a trip down memory lane below…

Ever have a crush on a coach? Well, these girls do with their tennis instructor—enough of a crush that they turn into two-time Olympic gold medal winner Serena Williams to impress him.

We love the three US figure skaters who are rocking the women’s division in Sochi…just as much as the triple threat who competed in the 1998 games. Watch as Michelle Kwan, Tara Lipinski and Nicole Bobek warm up after their chilly practices with some soup—hot enough to melt the ice to water!


 

Michael Jordan scores Gatorade

Having won two Olympic gold medals in basketball, Michael Jordan was/is a role model for kids everywhere. This famous commercial from Gatorade sparked the “Be Like Mike” campaign. Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t want to be like him?


 

Shawn Johnson keeps clean with Bounty

We’re just picturing this golden gymnast’s house looking exactly like this. 


Mia Hamm’s all dolled up

Soccer star Mia Hamm won a silver medal in 2000, and brought home the gold in 1996 and 2004. This Barbie commercial is so cute, and we love how excited the girls are to meet Mia…and have pizza with her!

 

 

Michael Phelps is victorious
Another Mike we wish we could be like. While the most decorated Olympian of all time is currently retired, we’re crossing our fingers for a surprise return in 2016.
