Missing a late loved one? You're not alone
Losing someone you love is never easy, and the mourning process lasts longer than you'd imagine. You may feel as though you have no one or nothing to turn to, but remember there's always something you can do to get your feelings out and deal with them positively.
Keeping busy during this tough time is a good idea, but do not forget to remember and reminisce on the beautiful times that you had with that person. Simply ignoring the passing or acting as if it did not happen can worsen the situation in the long run. Recognize that they are in a better place, but continue to remain in your heart forever.
Don’t forget to talk with those around you. Whether it is your mom, brother, close friend or anyone else you’re speaking to, they care about your well-being and want to know you’re OK. Speak up—it can help during the hard times.
Celebrate your memories with them! Flip through scrapbooks, read through old letters and look back in any other way that allows you to remember the great times you’ve had together. Share funny stories with friends and family so that everyone can get in on the memories, too. You'll feel much better when you do.
