Try these boredom busters when you've finished your online school for the day

With the switch to online school and the cancellation of major events, today's high schoolers are finding themselves with a lot more free time on their hands.

Sure, the load of cancellations and postponements is overwhelming, not to mention downright disappointing. But instead of wallowing inside of your home about what you’re missing, try to bust your boredom and try one of these fab strategies to get going again...

Go for a run.

Time to get active: exercise releases endorphins that instantly boost your mood. If running isn’t your forte, YouTube is filled with workout videos catered to your needs (Blogilates and Kayla Itsines feature moves to tone the glutes, core, legs, arms, and more).

Start a new book.

Become immersed in a new world with a fresh read in hand. Fly Back, Agnes, The Eye of Zeus: Legends of Olympus and Winterborne Home for Vengeance and Valor are standout titles of the spring.

Binge watch a new television series or screen a movie.

With Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ at your disposal, the opportunities are endless. Disney+ just released a new, original film Stargirl (starring GL cover girl Grace VanderWaal!), and Netflix uploaded episodes from Season 3 of Elite.

Try journaling.

Spilling all your anger and anxiety onto the page can feel *so* good. Feel free to reveal whatever is on your mind, and once you’re finished, stow your journal somewhere safe until you’re ready to write again.

Experiment with TikTok.

Eager to become the next Charli D’Amelio? Invest your time into producing videos for a creative outlet like TikTok—original content typically has the most viral potential!

Play with your pet.

Throwing a toy around with your cat or dog helps keep the brain alert and counteracts boredom. Plus, puppy kisses are ideal when pangs of disappointment decide to creep in.
