Eat Right

What food trends are we *most* looking forward to?

Our motto for 2017: Out with the old in with the new. And that *definitely* applies to the food we're eating (and Instagramming), too. We’ve got all the info on what to nosh on this year so that you have the trendiest, prettiest plate around.

Purple-colored everything
The whole "eat the rainbow" thing is getting a whole lot easier...and our meals are getting a whole lot more colorful. Purple cabbage, acai berries, purple corn and radishes are cluttering up our feeds, and we're definitely not complaining. Who knew veggies could look so pretty?

Non-meat meat
Trying to become a vegetarian? Now’s the year to do it. We're well past the days of cardboard, vomit-worthy veggie burgers. The latest creations are *so* much tastier and, while it might not be the same as a juicy burger from Shake Shack, it's pretty darn delicious in its own way. What plants are typically used in these protein powerhouses? Peas, wheat, coconut oil, and potatoes.

More authentic cuisine
Americanized food is so 2016. This year is all about trying food the way it’s *supposed* to be. So take a bite out of some genuine dim sum this year—we promise your tastebuds will thank you.

Unusual veggies
It might be time to kill the kale craze. Swap the leafy green for something more exotic like turnips, chard, broccoleaf and even dandelion greens. Trendy and tasty.

Cereal (yes, really)
A restaurant that serves cereal—sounds crazy, right? Not so much, actually. Kellog’s recently opened a cereal bar in Times Square, and a chain of restaurants in London called the Cereal Killer Cafe have recently become hugely popular. Our childhood selves would be so happy RN.

Delivery-only restaurants
Welcome to the easiest way to upgrade your Netflix and sweats night in. Now you don’t even have to get dressed to eat delicious foodwhat a time to be alive.

What foods or food trends are *you* going to try this year? Let us know in the comments!
