3 amazing female entrepreneurs to support this National Entrepreneur's Day
Nov. 15 is National Entrepreneur's Day! Entrepreneurs take on the huge task of starting their own business—which takes loads of time, money and effort. It's endlessly exciting when they can get their idea off the ground and turn it into a legitimate business.
Since we are all about female empowerment, we wanted to spotlight some super cool female bosses who have brands we really admire. Read on to learn more!
Natalie Mackey, Winky Lux
Every makeup company needs good products, a fab aesthetic and good values. Winky Lux brings all of that and more. They just collaborated with The Charmsters (a diversity-based animation brand) to create a limited-edition lip gloss and eyeshadow palette.
Natalie Mackey, the CEO and co-founder of the company, is dedicated to making Winky Lux an amazing brand. The company is plastic-neutral, meaning that they are committed to removing as much plastic from nature as they use to create their products. "We believe creating joy through our products means being clean, kind, and cruelty-free—for both our customers and our environment," Mackey said. You can shop for Winky Lux products here.
Steph Korey and Jen Rubio, Away
Who doesn't love fashionable, high-quality suitcases? Your fave influencer's go-to travel bag is probably from Away. Away is a luggage brand designed to solve all your traveling worries. There are plenty of colors and designs to choose from—and different materials for different purposes. They even make bags designed to attach to the handle of your suitcase!
Steph Korey and Jen Rubio created Away in 2015 after Rubio's suitcase exploded while she was traveling in Switzerland. From there, the two women built a luggage empire that made over $12 million in sales during its first year.
Away's approach is that their luggage is designed by travelers, for travelers. They believe that traveling is an essential part of life that makes us better people. You can purchase from Away here.
Georgina Gooley, Billie
You probably have seen Instagram ads for Billie, the shaving subscription service focused on women. The award-winning razor is specially designed to help reach every hair you're trying to get rid of. However, many of their images depict models with body hair, stressing the point that shaving or growing is a personal choice.
Along with shaving and waxing products, they also sell body care products like lip salve and lotion. Georgina Gooley, the co-founder, shares that she created the brand to educate buyers about the Pink Tax—the concept that products marketed towards men and women (like razors) are more expensive for women than men. Billie is more affordable and higher quality than other feminine razors on the market. With their reasonable prices and dedication to championing women worldwide, who wouldn't want to support this brand? You can buy from them here.
