Taylor Swift is retiring - and it's breaking our hearts

No, no, no, this can’t be happening. After the horrible news about Zayn leaving 1D last week, we didn’t think things could get any worse, but somehow they totally have because rumor has it Taylor Swift is retiring at the end of her tour.

We refused to believe it when we first heard the news, but after doing some snooping, it looks like the reports are right. After her 1989 tour wraps, Tay’s done with the music biz. Even just typing that sentence hurts.

Ever since she hit the scene in 2006, Tay’s been at the top of her game, but come January it looks like her plan is to ditch New York and move back to her Rhode Island seaside home.

What’s next for her? “Taylor has this amazing cupcake recipe from her grandmother and she's thinking about opening a cupcake shop with her childhood best friend Abigail,” says a source close to her. “They're going to open the bakery in Watch Hill. It's a touristy spot, so it'll do really well, and then she’ll take Taysty Treats national.”

Also new for our fave gal? Another feline friend. “Now that Taylor has more time on her hands, she's adopting a third cat,” the source continues. She's already picked out a name for Meredith and Olivia's new friend, too, but instead of honoring one of her favorite TV ladies, she's focusing on her real life BFF. "She won't get to see Karlie as much once she leaves New York, but now that she has a little Karlie Kloss kitten it'll be like they're always together.”

We get taking a break, Tay, you’ve totally earned it, but please, please, please don’t do this to us. We can’t take a world without a new Taylor Swift album to look forward to–honestly, we’re sort of tearing up over here. Come back, Tay. We’ll do anything.

Are you as emotionally devastated by this news as we are? Weigh in below in the comments.

P.S. April Fools! Did we get you? Taylor Swift is probably retiring one day (and we'd be lucky to get delicious cupcakes out of it!), but hopefully it's not for another couple of decades. As far as we know, we've got plenty of Tay to look forward to. Phew!
