Little League star Mo'ne Davis is getting her own Disney movie

You might know Mo'ne Davis as one of only two girls to play in last year's Little League World Series. Or maybe you know her as the first girl to pitch a shutout game during that tournament. Or maybe you know Mo'ne as the first Little League player to ever make the cover of Sports Illustrated. Either way, on top of being famous for all of these accomplishments, now you can also know Mo'ne from her very own Disney Channel Original Movie.

That's right – the talented young sports star is not only being recognized by Disney for her achievements, but getting her own Disney movie called Throw Like Mo. Since Mo'ne is more athlete than actor, she's not planning on starring in the film, but she will serve as a consultant for the new DCOM based on her life. Despite being only thirteen years old, Mo'ne's already had an illustrious sports career and we can't wait to see it come to life again on screen.

"A year ago, I never would have thought that Disney Channel would make a movie about me," Mo'ne shared about the film. "I can’t wait to get started, and I hope it will encourage other viewers to believe that dreams really do come true." We can't imagine anyone more deserving than Mo, and we know the flick is going to inspire girls all over the world.

Are you excited for Throw Like Mo? Are there any other young stars you'd want Disney to spotlight? Let us know in the comments.
