How to take your spring style to the next level
It’s officially wardrobe refresh szn, and we’re letting you in on a secret: Mastering the myriad of warm-weather runway looks starts with balance, bb. This spring, we’re saying yes to posh pastels, trendy textures and playful picks. There are just so many ways to get creative.
Go big!
Oversized pieces are surprisingly easy to pull off once you learn the tried-and-true rule of ~balance~: billowy with sleek, long with short and bold with basic. Not sure where to start? Think: oversized sunnies, boxy-yet-sleek jackets, French girl button-ups, chunky sneaks and epic jewelry.
Now it's your turn. Pair this Claire's ring ($15) with these Fraiser hoops ($28), Zara button-down ($36) and neutral Skechers ($70) to have your big moment.
Lighten up leather
A leather jacket makes a statement—and, yes, that statement can be soft + sweet. Bold textures plus pastel prettiness make the perfect pair. This Zara faux-leather jacket ($70) and Forever 21 skirt ($12) will do just the trick.
Candy crush
Leather in light hues lets you lean into pastels without feeling like a shrinking violet. Mix in bright beads and sunnies plus slides or sneaks to soften the look while keeping the edge. While everyone else is wearing black, grab your bright statements like this Habitual Kids romper ($56) and accessories that feel like sunshine, like this Beyond the Rainbow necklace ($12), these fun sunnies from Princess Polly ($20) and these Zodiac kicks ($79)—which will be the hero of your spring wardrobe.
Sheer bliss
Amp up your athleisure by pairing a loungey crop with a floral-flecked blouse. Paper bag pants play up the volume. Experiment with this sheer top from ASOS ($20).
Gone gauzy
Sheer + sporty = the combo you never saw coming. Turns out these stylish opposites heart each other. Layer up for bold, bulk-free dimension or make a statement with a soft piece on top. Time to wear shear without fear!
Give this sheer Cider top ($16) a try and pair it with this Maytree backpack ($16). Don't forget to add a fun bralette like this Loulou studio piece ($165). To wear over or under? That's the real question.
