5 Oscar beauty moments sure to inspire your spring dance look
With the Oscars well underway, things are all about the actual awards right now. But we *need* to talk about all the amazing looks rocked by talented actresses on the red carpet just a few moments ago. Everyone looked stunning in their own right, and there were a few eye-catching faces and hairdos that we just can't stop drooling over. What's best? Their looks are easy enough to achieve for your spring dance, like prom or the spring fling.
Below, the hairstyles and makeup looks even beauty novices can do.
Emma Stone's red waves and red lip
The La La Land actress and Lead Actress Academy Award nominee tonight rolled up to the carpet in a flash of old Hollywood glamour. Her dress itself is awe-worthy, but her waves added the perfect '20s flair to her look. What do we love most about it? With a deep part, high-shine serum and large-barrelled curling wand, you can recreate these curls yourself at home. As for her red lip, grab a matte red liquid lipstick (try this one from NYX) and you're good to go.
Chrissy Teigen's neutral makeup
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are faves on the red carpet and while, yes, they were super adorbs tonight as the paps snapped pics, we were *way* more excited about her makeup. She went for a subtly smoked-out bronze eye, nude lip and, as always, her signature glow. For a glow on your own big day, start experimenting with self-tanning lotions *now* so that by the time the dance rolls around, you've got a streak-free tan that looks totally profesh.
Sofia Carson's hair jewels
While the Descendants star's entire look was eye-catching, it was Sofia's hair accessory that had us heart eyes. She outfitted her sleek and smooth braided bun (fishtail, no less!) with this sparkly, OTT hair pin. If your dress, like Sofia's, has a lot of volume, consider going light on the jewels (notice she's only wearing stud earrings and no necklace) and just pop a few bejeweled barrettes or clips in your crown.
Emma Robert's strawberry blonde locks
The Scream Queens star turned heads on the carpet—and not just because she was wearing a gorgeous vintage Armani Privé gown. The 26-year-old also showed off her strawberry-blonde locks, a change from the honey blonde she stepped away from about two weeks ago. If you want to debut a new 'do for prom, go for a shade that's in the same family as your current color. It's the same shock value without all the "OMG-is-this-going-to-look-awful???" feeling.
Auli'i's Cravalho's fresh face
We are *living* for this fresh look from Moana's Auli'i Cravalho. At 16, she kept her makeup sweet and simple with on-trend, natural brows, peach blush, a light, rosy lip and a touch of liner on the lid. It's a look that any gal who's not totally makeup savvy can easily accomplish. The hair, too, can be acheived with a little texturizing spray and—like Emma Stone's hair—a large barrelled curling iron.
