On set with...the girls of StarStruck

Disney Channel’s Original Movie StarStruck premieres this Valentine’s Day at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT—yay!

And for those who don’t know, the flick centers around a hot Hollywood pop star Christopher Wilde who falls for a small-town girl Jessica Olson. Will he follow his heart or do what’s best for his sizzling image?

We headed to the film’s sunny L.A. set and got to chat with the fabulous cast that’s bound to make this movie rock. Check out what the StarStruck ladies had to say about their characters, boy conundrums and life off-screen…
Meet…Danielle Campbell
Claim to Fame: Jessica Olson—a Mid-western gal, forced to a Christopher Wilde concert by her over-fanatic older sister. When she runs into the starlet, sparks fly, leading them on a city-wide adventure across L.A.
Why She Loves Her Character: “I like her sense of humor. She is really down to earth and is a lot of fun. Jessica has a lot of snappy lines that she uses against Christopher and they’re really funny.”
Danielle vs. Jessica: “She’s not used to this whole celebrity world, and I’m just getting into this business so a lot [of this] is new to me, too.”
Funny Friend Memory: “My friends and I were in Michigan and we were cutting through people’s backyards at night, hopping fences for fun. All of a sudden, I fall into this gutter. They started laughing at me and I’m just like, ‘You know what? You wouldn’t be laughing if you were in the gutter.’”
Dude Conundrum: “I don’t really like it when [guys] lead you on [if they know] they’re not interested. Or when you know they like you but they’re not making a move.”

Meet…Maggie Castle
Claim to Fame: Sara Olson—Jessica’s wacky, star-struck older sis. Upon visiting her grandma in L.A., she hopes to catch a glimpse of the uber-cute Christopher Wilde, dragging Jessica to a Club Under 21 concert for her chance.
Why She Loves Her Character: “Sarah’s totally wacky and obsessed with this guy. Her whole motivation in life is to basically make him her boyfriend. I think in her head she’s cooler and popular than she actually is. Her hair, makeup and wardrobe on this has just been so much fun.”
Maggie vs. Sara: “My character can’t sing or dance and that’s like the only thing we share in common. [In one] scene they were like, ‘Okay, in this dance number, you’re [to act] like you dance really badly.’ I’m like, ‘That won’t be a stretch.’ They then asked, ‘Could you be even worse?’ Seriously?”
Sisterly Memory: “It’s fun to play the oldest because it’s not a position of power I’m used to. My older sister used to be really strict about me coming in her room. I’d always love to sleep with her on Christmas Eve. I’d get in bed so excited [because] it was like the one night a year where she’d let me. [But then] she’d be like, ‘Don’t move. Don’t breathe.’ Anything I did annoyed her.”
Dude Conundrum: “They wear skinnier jeans than me these days. What’s that about? I can’t stand when a guy has skinnier legs than me. Get out of here!”
Meet…Chelsea Staub
Claim to Fame: Alexis Bender—Christopher Wilde’s girlfriend.
Why She Loves Her Character: “She’s the villain. It’s always fun to play the bad guy. It’s nice to step out of your comfort zone and say the things that you would never say and get away with in the real world.”
Chelsea vs. Alexis: “I think it’s nice to play a character that kind of makes fun of the stereotype in L.A. These girls are all about the paparazzi and all about themselves. I don’t think I’m that way at all. I could really care less about getting photographed at the grocery store, you know?”
Fave Family Sitch: “I grew up around a lot of cousins and kids, so I definitely got the bullying out of my system. But, I ‘m really close with my mom. I think the best part about being an only child is that I got to come out [to Los Angeles]. I know if I had brothers or sisters, my parents would have never taken them away from their friends and school.”
Computer Conundrum: “I [hate] computer viruses. They just make you really mad. I just don’t understand why people that smart don’t help us, like, stop wars as opposed to killing my Mac. It sucks.”

Be sure to catch Danielle, Maggie, Chelsea and the rest of the gang when StarStruck premieres on The Disney Channel this Sunday night.
