Meant To Be

The boy I love sits next to me,
In most my daily classes,
I've known him for a while now,
Still the feeling never passes.

When he whispers in my ear,
I swoon and sigh inside,
And when he looks into my eyes,
My troubles always hide.

He calls me his best friend,
So it's obvious to me,
That me and the boy I love,
Are truely meant to be.

Still something haunts me,
When I see him in the hall,
Another one beside him,
So confident, so tall.

She laughs with those around her,
With a twinkle in her eye,
And my heart nearly shatters,
When I see him swoon and sigh.

He's happiest around her,
That I plainly see,
But how can it be so,
When we are meant to be?

How could it be another,
Who looks into his eyes?
How could another girl,
Ever fuel his swoons and sighs?

And how could it be so,
If we were truely meant to be,
That he could love a girl who isn't me?
