With the premiere of
Girl Vs. Monster tonight, we could
just squeal with anticipation! We chatted with all the stars of the movie about
monster hunting and Halloween, and they spilled plenty of interesting deets.
One star we were lucky enough to catch
up with was Kat McNamara, who plays mean girl Myra in the flick. Be sure
to catch Kat and her amazing co-stars this tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Disney
Channel!
Read on to learn all things Kat. You may
be surprised at what she revealed!
She was bullied We were shocked to hear, but Kat has been a victim of bullying.
She went on to explain how one mean girl spread all sorts of lies and rumors
about her. Thankfully, she’s only grown from these negative experiences. “[Bullying
is] something that needs to stop, it really does. There are so many kids out
there that really are afraid to show who they truly are because they’re
bullied, and that’s so unfortunate,” she told us. We completely agree!
She’s not afraid to stand out When we asked Kat what she wanted to be
for Halloween, she told us all sorts of cool ideas that she’s considered—from Scooby Doo’s Daphne to Audrey Hepburn!
It’s clear that this actress doesn’t mind being unique and doing her own thing.
“[I want to be] something
completely out there and different,” she said. Props to ya, Kat!
She
loves healthy snacks We were curious to know what kind of
snacks Kat eats. And since Girl Vs.
Monster is a Halloween flick, we asked about her fave Halloween treats.
Well guess what, kitkats. This chica is all about being healthy! “I’m a huge fan
of rice cakes with peanut butter. Healthy snacks temper the sweetness on
Halloween.”
She can sing Kat is set to have a song in the movie,
called “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me.” She sings the whole track, and it actually
plays during a creepy scene that she’s in. “I sing it when I’m possessed by
monsters, so it’s very dark and sinister, which is fun for Halloween,” she
said.
She’s
generous We had asked Kat to tell us a story
about a time someone had scared her, but we ended up learning something much
more interesting from the tale. While telling us about a time when a friend
jumped out at her on her birthday, Kat said, “For my 16th birthday, I
adopted a family and got a bunch of gifts for them instead of having a big
party.” Now isn’t that just so super sweet!
She LOVES shoes We know you love the inside scoop on
movie sets and props, so we asked Kat what she would most want to take home
from the set. Her answer? Shoes, of course. “I am a shoe freak. The ones in this movie
are just incredible, and I have all these amazing platform heels.” Hey, we
totally get it.
What fact about Kat shocked you the most? Are you tuning in
tonight for Girl Vs. Monster? Blog
about it, babes.
