8 easy ways to love yourself every day

We all love our friends and appreciate them for who they are, so why aren't we that kind to ourselves? We've got tips to limit negative self-talk and reboot the way you feel right this second.

Take breaks throughout the day
Don't just scroll through Instagram when you're feeling stressed or bored. Instead, take planned, restorative breaks throughout the day. Take some deep breaths, go for a walk, or do some light stretching. You'll feel better in no time.

Give yourself recognition
Be proud of yourself and the work you do. Remember: no one is perfect, so there's no sense in spending endless hours second-guessing yourself. Acknowledge what you have done and be proud of yourself.  

Do things that comfort you
We all have those hobbies that we love and that make us feel great, but that we never really do. Plan to do the things you like, whether it's writing, drawing, playing an instrument, or something else. Make time for yourself and do the things you love.

Forgive yourself
We all mess up, but it won't help to be angry at yourself. Be kind to yourself and move on. Stop blaming yourself, work to do better next time and forgive yourself. 

Say sweet things to yourself
Make sure to give yourself compliments about how you look, rather than focusing on the negative. Because you are pretty and you do look great in that top!

Acknowledge your feelings
No matter what your emotions may be, don't try to talk yourself out of them. Rather, acknowledge your anger or sadness and find ways to get through it, whether through journaling or talking to a trusted adult. There is a reason why you are feeling this way, and you're allowed to feel like this. So, take note of it all and just recognize what you're feeling.

Take care of yourself
Eat well and stay hydrated, and your day will really get better. This might seem pretty obvious, but good food, water and sleep can boost your mood and make you feel happier. So, be nice to yourself and stay healthy. 

Remind yourself of your best qualities
If you find yourself dipping into a negative spiral, try to stop your brain by focusing on some good things. Remind yourself that you're an awesome friend or a kind sibling or someone who appreciates a good story or you have a great laugh.
