Why Cancer season is low-key the best part of the summer

When we think of summer, we tend to think about super social Gemini season starting off the fun and the bold, vibrant Leo season ending things on a high note. That leaves Cancer season (that period between late June and the end of July) kinda ignored.

Nothing about the sensitive, introverted Cancer sign seems related to boisterous beach days (well, except that it's depicted as a crab). But, tbh, Cancer szn is probably the most underrated time of the year because it encourages us to tune into our deeper feels and take stock of our closest relationships.

The overall busyness of the other months can make it hard to slow down and notice the things that *really* matter in life (like how your besties/fam/you are truly feeling).

Think of Cancer season as your vacay reset: It's the perfect time to reconnect, open up and make the (low-key but v. necessary) move your sign needs rn.

Aries

Your summer move: Let your friends take the lead

You're typically the one who makes the plans. But when Mars, your ruling planet, enters grounded Virgo on July 10, you feel ready for new experiences. Ask your friends what they want to try...and just go with it. Hate kickball but your bestie loves it? Tag along. Always thought crafts were kind of cheesy? An afternoon of beading bracelets won't kill you (and you just might find a new hobby).

Taurus

Your summer move: Spend some time in nature

Since Taurus is the sign of the home, even in the summer you heart curling up on the couch with your phone and your queue. But when that starts to get stale, take a walk around the neighborhood or head on a hike for a much-needed vibe shift. This will especially help to clear your head when the full moon in Capricorn happens on July 3, making you think extra hard about your future.

Gemini

Your summer move: Prioritize one-on-one hangs

The summer party doesn't start until your season walks in. By June, your group texts are likely blowing up with plans...and you find yourself bouncing from crew to crew. Those huge hangouts can make it hard to get quality time, so ask someone you want to get to know better to chill solo. You just might end up with a future lifelong bestie you otherwise would have walked right by.

Cancer

Your summer move: Be honest about something scary

When chatty Mercury enters your sign on June 21, you're finally feeling ready to open up. So whatever you've been waiting to share, this is a great time to confide in a friend. You don't necessarily need to spill everything or set the stage for a super serious convo: All it takes is saying, "I've had a lot on my mind lately. Can we talk?" When it does happen, you'll feel so much lighter.

Leo

Your summer move: Ask more questions

Leos thrive in the spotlight, but sometimes that can leave friends feeling a bit left in the dark. Time to unlock a unique talent of yours: asking thoughtful questions. It can feel a little insincere at first, but leave it to a Leo to make the Qs engaging. Plus, when Mercury, planet of communication, enters your sign on July 11, you'll get to know all your besties like never before—and maybe even make a few new ones.

Virgo

Your summer move: Confront old wounds

It can be easy for you to take on a lot without realizing it. Over time, always being there for your friends might start to wear you down a little, especially if your 'ship feels one-sided. Time to talk things out: When action-focused Mars enters your sign on July 10, that's the cue to finally approach the topics you've been carefully dodging. It might feel scary, but it'll make your relationships stronger.

Libra

Your summer move: Bring your pals together

Libras are great at creating balance in a duo: With one friend, you're chattier. With another, you're the calm confidant. But if you're yearning for a broader friend group, it's time to form one on your own. When communicative Mercury enters Gemini on June 11, it makes it easier for you to talk to anyone *and* introduce people. Time to bridge together all your best pals to form a super group.

Scorpio

Your summer move: Support a friend who's struggling

You're probing and introspective (and, yes, nosy). But your inquisitive nature is also a rare gift. When Cancer season, starts on June 21, it's time to put your detective tendencies to good use. If you have a friend who seems withdrawn or off lately, reach out and lend an ear to whatever problem they're having so you can come up with a solution together, bringing you closer in the process.

Sagittarius

Your summer move: Replace roasts with compliments

We heart your edgy humor and jokester energy, but when Venus, planet of love and affection, enters like-minded Leo on June 5, it brings out a more earnest, warmer side of you. Embrace it! Especially during Cancer season (when people are prone to getting in their own feelings), telling your friends and fam how much they mean to you will help give your bonds a happy reset.

Capricorn

Your summer move: Have no plan

It's likely your break is jam-packed, Cap. But this time should also be about unwinding and being present, so nix some of the to-dos and leave your calendar open. Consider this: Pluto, plant of transformation, is in retrograde in your sign starting June 11. This can feel like a huge identity crisis at first, but when you make time to reflect and be spontaneous, you'll discover life-changing things about yourself.

Aquarius

Your summer move: Branch out

You really notice when you feel disengaged or out of place with others. If you're feeling like you rarely get to be your true self, expand your friendship options. A great way to do that is to do the things you love (be it sports, theater or music) and meet like-minded people. Plus, when Mercury enters fellow air sign Gemini on June 11, you'll be chatting with potential new buds in no time. You got this!

Pisces

Your summer move: Get crafty

You're known for your creative talents, whether it's doodling or customizing your clothes. But it's hard to keep that up during the social summer season. So why not bring together the best of both worlds and invite your friends to join you? Even if your besties don't share your love for artsy activities, it's hard to find someone who *wouldn't* want to tie-dye their hoodies or make a Story-worthy dessert.
