5 cute workout hairstyles that will stay in place
There's nothing wrong with a simple, sleek ponytail at the gym—unless it starts falling out the second you start to break a sweat. Fitness gurus admit that styling post-gym hair can be the worst. But it doesn't have to be! We've put together a list of simple and trendy hairstyles that will not only stay in place throughout your workout, but also last the rest of the day.
French braid ponytail
Tired of bangs in your eyes mid-workout? This twist on the classic pony will keep your hair out of your face and stay in place no matter how intense your workout is.
How to do it: Part your hair on the side and start french braiding one side. Once your french braid reaches the crown of your head, gather all of your hair into a ponytail and secure with two hair ties for extra support.
Double buns
Instagram and YouTube fitness gurus agree—this trendy take on the classic ballet bun is perfect for any workout. Even better, you can achieve this style and be gym-ready in less than one minute!
How to do it: Part your hair down the middle into two even sections and gather each side into messy buns on the crown of your head. For extra hold, apply some dry shampoo (we love this volumizing dry shampoo you can pick up at your local drugstore)
Pony braid
The perfect remedy for a bad hair day. All you need for this *adorable* style is an extra hair tie.
How to do it: Bring your hair into a high ponytail using a hair tie. Next, braid (or fishtail, if you're feeling *fancy*) the ponytail and secure it at the end with another hair tie. (Hint: To make sure your pony braid stays in place throughout your workout, we suggest adding an extra hair tie to the top of the ponytail.)
French braids
These braids will keep your hair our of your face much better than a ponytail. Bonus: This sporty look does a great job disguising dirty hair.
How to do it: Divide your hair into two even sections on each side. French braid each side and secure the bottom with a hair tie. (Here's a quick video on french braiding if you need a refresher.)
Headband ponytail
The most obvious and tried-and-true style, adding a headband to a classic pony not only keeps the hair out of your face, but also gives your style a personal touch. We love this adorable mint-colored headband.
