Acai bowls: The 3-step healthy breakfast you'll crave all week

We’ve been seeing acai berry bowls everywhere lately, and after giving in and trying 'em out ourselves––we couldn't help but to fall in love. Not only are they super tasty, but they’re loaded with tons of antioxidants, amino acids, and essential fatty oils, making it the ultimate superfood. So to help you get in on the latest and greatest healthy breakfast trend, we've gathered the perfect recipe that'll suit all your morning taste bud needs. Check it out below.

What you'll need: 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk • 1/2 large frozen ripe banana • 1 tsp honey or agave nectar • Toppings (we love coconut shavings, dark chocolate chips, granola, frozen berries, bananas, and nuts/seeds) • Blender • 2 Sambazon unsweetened acai smoothie packs, thawed for 30 minutes or run under hot water for a few seconds (these can be found in health food stores, but you can get them online at freshdirect.com

Directions:
1. Place almond milk, acai smoothie packs, banana and honey or agave nectar into a high-powered blender.
2. Blend until well-combined and all chunks have disappeared. The texture will be similar to a very thick smoothie.
3. Poor acai mixture into bowl and top with desired toppings. Think:  Coconut, granola, frozen berries, bananas, nuts and seeds. Get creative!
