10 films to watch on your next movie date
A movie date sounds *so* easy...right? But wait. The hardest part is choosing the right film. DW, we've done the hard part for you by finding 10 movies perfect for every date-night vibe. All you need to do is find somewhere to watch, grab some snacks and get comfy with your bae.
1. Harry Potter
Any of the Harry Potter movies are perfect ofr a movie date. Whether you or your S.O. has never seen them, or you’ve seen them a million times, they never get old. Maybe even start a marathon and try to watch them all (and it's a v. valid excuse to see your sweetie again).
2. Crazy Rich Asians
The moment this rom-com movie came out, it became one of our all-time faves. Follow Rachel Chu as she discovers that her boyfriend and his family aren’t exactly who she thought they were.
3. La La Land
After numerous Acadamy Award nominations, it’s safe to say La La Land is a classic. What's better than a love story plus a fantastic soundtrack. It stars Ryan Gossling and Emma Stone. Do we even need to say more?
4. Grease
Grease is basically the definition of an '80s rom-com. Watch as Sandy and Danny’s summer fling turns into a school year romance. Plus, we give the soundtrack a 10/10.
5. Jurassic World
If you and your S.O. are more into action movies, we recommend Jurassic World. Follow Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) as he tries to save the luxury resort from escaped dinosaurs. If you haven’t already seen the OG Jurassic Park, you def need to add it to your watch list.
6. Adrift
Calling all Shailene Woodley fans! This 2018 film is one of our fave dramas. It is a moving story of how Tami Oldham perseveres through basically impossible circumstances to make it back to shore. It’s even based on a true story!
7. She's All That
This movie is perfect for '90s rom-com fans. It was even remade into He’s All That, starring Addison Rae. Watch as the most popular guy in school tries to turn nerdy-art student Laney into a prom queen. The movie carries a deeper theme, though, which reveals that being popular should be based on more than just looks.
8. Bring It On
Who’s ready for some *serious* competition? When the Clovers, a rivaling cheer squad, accuse the Toros of stealing their routine, they have to race to come up with something new and improved so that they can win nationals.
9. Spider-Man
We had to include a classic marvel movie somewhere in this list, so here it is. Whether you like Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield or Toby Maguire, you def can’t go wrong with Spider-Man.
10. The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Yes, another novel adaptation (because everyone knows they’re usually the best). This heart-warming story shows new kid Charlie finding his place in high school and the world. It depicts what high school can really feel like, so you’re guaranteed to find a character you relate to.
