5 things that shouldn't matter about the person you're dating
How often does someone actually date a "perfect" person? Probably not often because, well, no one is perfect. Everybody has their quirks, pet peeves and annoyances, but they should never be the deciding factor when it comes to dating. Check out the list below of a few things that shouldn't be used as a reason to stop talking to someone you like!
Their height and weight
If you have a connection with someone, lean into that. Don't let certain physical traits keep you apart. Looks aren't everything when it comes to being in a relationship. True human connection is rare and shouldn't be cast aside based on something as trivial as how tall or short someone is.
Their differing interests
Newsflash: No couple is on the same page about every single detail. So you two don't like all of the same things, so what? Being with someone who likes different things can be fun and open you up to new experiences. If you don't like musical theatre and they do, give it a chance. You never know what might happen!
How "cool" they are
Whether they have five friends or 500 friends, that should not change your feelings for them. Liking someone is a singular experience and should not involve the opinion of anyone but you (and them, obvs). Plus, popular does not always = right for you.
Their sense of style
Whether or not you're into fashion, you shouldn't be judging the person you're dating on what they wear. Maybe they can't afford to buy the nicest clothes or they just don't care, but that doesn't affect who they are as a person.
Their social media standing
Some people aren't great at or even interested in updating their Instagram account, and that's just life. If that's the case, you'll be the one in the relationship who gets to show off your super cute couples pics. More likes for you!
