I wrote this a while ago, just thought I’d put it here! Happy V-Day to all! How to survive (dare I say . . . enjoy?) Valentine’s Day (or even just an ordinary day) ~ WITHOUT a boyfriend!

~ Keep your eyes off of the couples. You’re going to see a lot more of them if you’re looking for them and counting them. Really.
~ Don’t brood about how you’ve got no boyfriend. Yes, it can be sad. But you don’t need a boyfriend to complete you, you fabulous chica, you! Instead of looking for the ‘perfect’ boy (and dwelling on how he’s not your boyfriend), just have fun – it’s a holiday, for goodness’ sakes! I’ve seen many fantastic girls MAKE themselves miserable by dwelling on how they’re a loser/fat/ugly (all of witch are untrue) and have no boyfriend because of it, and that they are doomed to eternal solitude and misery. If they think that way, they’re right (trust me on this one). If you think happy, you’ll be happy (see #5).
~ Have fun with your girls! Valentine’s Day is the holiday of love, not boyfriends. You love your family and friends, right? Right! Get your girls together and throw a Valentine’s Day single-and-fabulous party! (If one has a boyfriend, that’s okay. Just no boys and no constant texting/calling her boyfriend, okay?). Fill the room with pink decorations, stock up on your favorite foods, fill a bowl with candy hearts, give each other makeovers, watch a movie you all love (preferably a comedy)- even make a “Single Soundtrack” – full of songs by girls about just having fun with their friends! Do whatever sounds fun! (What’s wrong with using V-Day as an excuse to party? Nothing! Parties and fun with your chicas=good!).
~ Spread the love! Dress in pink, red, and white. Hand out candies and/or valentines to all of your friends (male and female, taken and single) at school. Smile! Say “I Love You” to your girls. Carry a pink teddy bear. Hug people (as long as they won’t mind).
~ Think happy thoughts! If you wake up thinking “I’m going to hate today. My life sucks. I’ll be miserable” . . . the day’s not going to go well for you. If you wake up thinking, “Yay! It’s Valentine’s Day! I get to see all of my friends! I’ll get free candy! It’s gonna rock!” . . . your day will be full of fun! Yay fun!
~ Remember . . . How you view Valentine’s Day is up to you! (Look at #2 and #5!) Face it with a smile and it’ll be awesome! I promise!
