One morning, I woke up and decided I wanted to make pancakes for my parents. When I saw that there was no pancake mix, I decided to make them from scratch. Of course we had eggs, butter and flour, but what I didn’t see was the baking powder. I looked online for substitutions, and someone said that mixing baking soda and lemon is OK. So I made the pancakes, and they looked perfect. I called my parents to the kitchen. At first they looked pleased, but their faces changed in seconds. Turns out, the pancakes tasted horrible! I think I’ll stick to the mix from now on.
