Raise your hands up in the air and scream…because Disney dropped the trailer for Camp Rock 3.
We’ve got less than a month before the movie’s premiere on Disney Channel on August 13 (and psst, it comes out on Disney+ the following day). Yet it feels like we’ve been counting down forever to meet the new cast of campers who’ll be singing around the bonfire this summer. But now, thanks to this new extended peek at the CRCU—that’s “Camp Rock cinematic universe.,” duh!—that wait is over.
Check out the full trailer below and read on for all of our biggest CR3 predictions….
1. A triumphant Jo Bros return
Looks like world-famous brother band Connect 3 is back in action (although still unclear if Jason ever got that birdhouse built…).
The trailer shows the three superstar sibs heading back to Camp Rock, along with their snarky manager, to scout new talent for their opening act. To discover the next big thing, they’re issuing three intense challenges to all the campers. Everyone will have a chance to prove themselves, but only the best rocker will win a spot on their sold-out national tour.
2. A dash of summer romance
Although we hear Liamani Segura‘s character, Sage, swear that nothing will distract her from her music, Malachi Barton‘s character, Fletch, would beg to differ.
We get a quick peek at their meet-cute moment plus them exchanging a few flirty glances. Cue Casey Trotter’s character, Cliff, singing “Sage and Fletch, sitting in a tree….” Is it too much to ask for a “Wouldn’t Change A Thing”-style romantic ballad!?
3. A few epic dance numbers
Something was healed in us when we heard Brooklynn Pitts as Callie drop that iconic Shane Gray line: “Grab a mic and a hat. Follow me if you can.”
From the glimpses we get to see in the trailer, we predict that “One Beat Away” (aka the first single from the movie) is just the start when it comes to high-energy musical moments. Here’s hoping there’s a lot more of that same killer group choreo to come.
4. A *fiercely* competitive Final Jam
No installment in the Camp Rock franchise would be complete without a high-stakes Final Jam. And with a life-changing opportunity on the line (especially for our main character, Sage), it seems like the campers will stop at nothing to impress Connect 3 and kickstart their own rockstar careers. The one thing we can’t predict? Exactly which of the talented teens will be crowned the champion.
