Moving on, we’ve made a smooth transition to The City and little miss Whitney has found herself in a prestigious new job with Diane von Furstenberg, a fabulous apartment and a new gang of friends. As far as Whitney goes, I’m still a little unsure if she has enough personality to carry off a show of her own. Don’t get me wrong, I love the girl, but I think she makes a better sidekick than a front and center star.
Her first week on the job starts right smack dab in the middle of New York Fashion Week. She’s just an LA girl moving on up in the world trying to find her place among socialites and the downtown crowds. Whitney is swamped in work, trying to play catch up already. Good luck, girl!
She’s not too busy to meet up with her “love interest” Jay. I STILL can’t get over his accent. It’s so dreamy. Hopefully he’s just not using her to get on TV and get his music discovered. He just doesn’t seem as into her as she is him until he pops by Olivia’s dinner party.
I can tell right off that a mixing of crowds is going to be a really difficult new aspect to her life. Whitney kind of rotates between the two worlds and the two worlds don’t necessarily mix. Did anyone else see that hateful look on Olivia’s face when they bolted out of her dinner party super fast? Haha.
Aside from the drama in the work crowd, her boy situation is no better. Whit’s former flame Alex lets her know that his roommate’s BFF has been dating Jay. Oh snap! Guess the boy isn’t too keen on being exclusive. Ouch. Who do you think she should trust? Do you think Alex just has sour grapes because Whitney ditched him for the new boy?
Whitney looks a bit over the whole macho man act that they pull in the club. I think Alex is such a nice guy. A bit overly chivalrous, but at least he’s got her best interest at heart. Everyone keeps talking about how Jay is going to be the Justin Bobby of The City. I have to agree. He seems like bad news.
When Erin’s BF comes to town, Whitney starts doubting him even more. Their relationship is super-cute and comfortable. Any girl is bound to be jealous. And, how can a girl resist a musician? Apparently Whitney can’t. She’s still trying to figure out where they stand. They’re going apartment hunting together. Kind of a couple-y thing don’tcha think? She feels on top of the world, but I hope it all doesn’t come crashing down.
Olivia is quick to give Whitney a lecture on self-reliance. I agree with her to a point, but I feel like it’s a little too early to be judging Whitney’s relationship. She seems like a know it all. She totally rubs me the wrong way.
Jay takes care of it for her and announces that they’re still in the “getting to know you” phase. Commitment shy or just a run of the mill player? You tell me!
Next episode she uses the ol’ make him jealous strategy to get him to commit. Looks like it might actually be working. Tune in to find out and be sure to come back and discuss!
