Gossip Girl
Super rich kids + holiday dinner = tons of drama! Gossip Girl had a Thanksgiving ep almost every season, so it obviously deserves a spot on the list. Out of all of them, we have to spotlight the one from Season 3, “The Treasure of Serena Madre.” After simmering all episode, tensions finally boil over at the Van der Woodsen feast. Watching Lily, Serena, Blair and Vanessa angrily storm away from the table while tossing their napkins on the floor? Iconic on so many levels. Not to mention the fashion, the iconic quotes (“And I want pie!”) and the music (“Whatcha Say” will forever live rent-free in our minds).
Friends
With 10 turkey-themed episodes—one per season—the options are truly endless. One of the most memorable scenes from the show in general (Monica with a turkey on her head, natch) comes from Season 5, Episode 8, “The One With All the Thanksgivings.” If you’re truly feeling brave, binge all of the 10 episodes in one day. However, if you’ve only got time for one, we suggest sticking with Season 3, Episode 9, “The One With the Football.” No one does a sibling rivalry quite like Ross and Monica Geller.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Sure, the Thanksgiving eps in the later seasons with Jake and Amy’s parents are hilarious, but we have a soft spot for the ones that take place with the squad. Episode 10 of Season 1, appropriately titled “Thanksgiving,” features a sitcom classic: Everything going absolutely wrong and ruining the plans of the super put-together character (followed by a heartfelt dinner table moment).
Gilmore Girls
Ahh, the unofficial show of fall—so there’s no surprise Gilmore Girls has an amazing Thanksgiving episode. Season 3, Episode 9, “A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving,” feels like a warm hug, with Lorelai and Rory attending four different turkey celebrations in one night. It’s got everything we love about GG: witty banter, family drama and a whole lot of love. Plus, any episode of Gilmore Girls that includes Dave Rygalski (who should’ve ended up with Lane, we said what we said) is top-tier in our book.
