I need help. My daddy says that I have no friends and I have plenty. Since my best friends broke up with me (just 2 months ago), I have sort of isolated myself. But now I have just as many friends as I used to, if not more, and my dad won’t let it go. Because my friends haven’t invited me over and I haven’t been on the phone lately, he thinks I have a problem. I’ve told him how I feel and I even cried over it because I thought he was right. I just feel horrible that he would say that. I know it’s only because he cares about me, but that really hurt my feelings and freaked me out. Please don’t tell me to talk to him, it will just make him think I really do have a problem.’

Hey girl,
Ugh. It can be so hard when you lose a friend, let alone two friends. And girl it’s even harder that your dad is making you upset about it. You can totally get through this!
Your dad probably just wants to make sure you’re happy. He might be scared because he thinks that you’re isolating yourself cause you’re not hanging out with your BFFs 24/7.
I know you don’t want to talk to your dad but wouldn’t you feel better if he understood whatsup with you? It wouldn’t just make YOU feel better but it will make him feel better too.
If you don’t want to talk face to face try writing him a letter or note. Tell him that you know he cares about you and is concerned but you’re totally happy. Let him know that you love hanging with your pals but you also realize that you’ve gotta make time for another
really important gal–yourself!
Bottom line is: If you’re happy with your life don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise! Focus on things that make you feel great with your gals–going to the movies, laughing about your crush and shopping for the latest fads. Think about things that you do on your own that show how great it is to be independent–reading a great book, going for a run and listening to your fave playlist. Figure out what makes YOU happy and then go for it girl!
Good luck girl!
