Okay, so I have a twin sis and she has friends I don’t like. Sometimes I have to hang out with them and I hate it. They always make fun of me, laugh at me, and make me feel bad about myself. I’ve even cried about what they say to me. I have told my sis I don’t like them, but she doesn’t care because she makes fun of me too in front of them. My sis and I have different friends–hers is the “soccer group” and mine is “emo” group. I just feel so uncomfortable around her friends. They say they’re joking, but I don’t think they are. One of her friends made me cry right in front of everyone. But I’m not a crybaby at all. I just don’t know how to tell them and my sis. How do I tell them?’

CSI LUVR,
Does your sister have any friends that you feel comfortable with? Are any of them even somewhat nice to you? Find one that you can trust and let her know how you feel. Explain to her that it really hurts you when they make fun of you. Maybe she can say something to them or stand up for you next time they’re getting you down.
As for your sister, it’s pretty disappointing that she doesn’t respect your feelings. Try writing her a letter describing how you feel. Make sure you let her know what she can do specifically to make you feel better. If she still doesn’t change, go to your parents. You say that sometimes you “have” to hang out with them. Why is that? Avoid being around your twin and her friends as much as you can. Ask your rents if you can invite a couple friends over when your sister has them over. Or, if you know they’re going to be around, go to a friend’s house, the mall, or the movies. Just remember, the less you’re around them, the less harm they can do. Good luck, babe!
PEACE OUT!
Cassie
