September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, so take action to raise awareness about this deadly disease.
Ovarian cancer is most likely to strike women over 45, but there’s still no test to detect it early and many of the symptoms often go overlooked. Luckily, docs can often spy abnormalities during a woman’s annual pelvic exam, so going to the gyno every year is key.
Teal is color associated with ovarian cancer awareness, so get a bunch of your girls or teammates together to sport the hue for a day (you can get teal polos at oldnavy.com). You could even raise money for a local ovarian cancer walk or buy a bracelet or make ribbons to support research efforts and get the word out. Check out ovariancancer.org for more info and a list of events in your state.
