Parents can rain on your parade every once in a while and that’s a bummer, but you gotta look at this entire situation as something that affects a group as a whole. You are part of a family, it is your parents job to make sure everything runs smoothly. I know it FEELS like your mom is badgering you, but she isn’t. In order to avoid her turning into the Inquisition, be thorough. My dad always says do it right the first time and you won’t have to do it again. Really concentrate on your chores then step back and try to see it through your mom’s eyes. If you can think like her you can guess what she will complain about before she even says anything.
For the computer, why don’t you all sit down and come up with a schedule. Make 30 minute time slots and every day each person can go on the computer at the specified time. That way nobody is fighting for it. In terms of your guitar playing, is there anyway you could practice in the basement or maybe not plug it into an amp? I can’t imagine a guitar being all that loud. Maybe you could get your practice in before dinner time so that the house quiets down before bedtime. Try asking your mom where and when she would prefer for you to play so you can avoid any negative comments she might have,
XO,
JANA
