When it comes to sports, I’m a pretty competitive person. Ok, I’m really competitive. On runs, it’s me vs. stopwatch. When I play tennis, I’m def in it to win it. And I don’t play rec league sports, ‘cause I’m scared the rest of the team wouldn’t take it seriously.
Last week, I took a mini break from striving for victory. Instead, I focused on actually improving my skills. My super-athletic little bro spilled some of his tennis-pro secrets. We didn’t play a game, but running drills was definitely an intense workout. Plus, I learned tons and got to bond with my bro (without any sibling rivalry!).
I’m not gonna ditch my competitive edge, but every so often I’ll take a few steps back to perfect what I know. A girl’s gotta master the basics to get better, right?
Healthy hearts,
Katie A.
