Singer-songwriter Brook Fraser may be a new name to you, but she’s been reaching the charts in New Zealand since 2003. Albertine is the 24-year-old’s second album and it’s making waves all around the world.
Fraser’s voice is strong and powerful to go along with her passionate lyrics. The songs on the album reflect her devout Christian faith as well as her experience in humanitarian works. The past years Fraser has become involved in many charitable causes in Africa, namely child sponsorship programs. The song and album title Albertine was inspired by a child she met in Rwanda and felt a special kinship with.
If you love a strong female voice and slower, rock melodies you will like Fraser. You will be tempted to sing along and match Fraser’s vocal capabilities—just make sure you’re by yourself.
